H1N1
As I read the feed in google reader"First shipment H1N1 flu vaccine leaves the factory" published by CNN they were saying 75.3 million doses are expected to leave thought December. The first thought that comes in to my head is how will it affect us in school and What are the dangers of the vaccine. I looked up on goggle" how will the shipment of H1N1 vaccine affect my health", a broadcast from CBS News came up and they were talking about the affect it will have .First they say that the federal leggestration gave a "immunity"on the vaccine because there was a national public health emergency, with the immunity there is more chance that it will be dangerous because they don't test it fully and they can put product that they will think will help that might not have been oked by the government. True it is a pandemic but still you have to way the costs of how bad the disease is and how the vaccine will hurt/help you. Also they want to put the vaccine in schools to help decrease the spread,I do not think that is a good idea at all. First we don't have the right equipment to give the shots and to buy that we would need a lot of money that we do not have. Also we have kids who have allergies, autoimmune disest, and special knees and them taking the shoot could kill them.We have to remember that everyone reacts different to medicine. i think our who country is going a little to crazy about this a little to early.Just wash your hands alto, try not to be around sick people and if your sick go to the doctor and ask him about all the things you could take and the risk and benefits of the vaccine.

skypeing in the class room
In the Blogg H1N1,Skype, Anne Smith was blogging about how kid's in her class were sick and skyping in to the class.I thought that was so cool that the kids could do that, because make up work stinks . It is horrible to have to do all your home work from that day you were sick, and you have to do all the learning by yourself . Mrs. Smith told her kids in her class about it and she was surprised about how willing they were to do it. Again and again technology is coming up in our classroom life ,we can be "In the class room" and not have to be in the class room. I think skype is very cool my family talks to my brother in Missoula, Montana with skype. Now we can use it in the class room too. I think it is kinda scary how technology is taking over our life but at the same time very interesting and exciting .

Obamas speach
As I read 'Are you smarter then a fith grader'by Mr.Fisch I was thinking about our school and my Mom. We did not get to watch President Obama's speech at our school and my mom was very mad,she thought we should be able to hear our own president talk to us about our education. I think what East Elementary school did was very cool and I think we should have done some thing like it. Mr. Fisch wrote about how the 5th graders at East Elementary blogged about the speech while listening to it. I thought that sounded fun because we watched the inauguration speech in my middle school and we did not get to talk about it and if we could blog then we could all read each other's thoughts and we could say our own ideas. I think that would be very helpful to our learning because we would expand our thoughts because most kids get their political views from their parents because that is all they hear. But if we saw the speech by ourselves we could think for ourselves and we could read other kids thoughts. Although the article was short it made me think a lot of my "political views" if a 5th grader can blog about his thoughts on Obama shouldn't 9th grader be able to as well.

fire fighters
In the story Fallen California firefighters
Two California fire fighters died while fighting one of the biggest fires in California history. Ted Hall and Arnie Quinones were trying to find an escape route for their crew when they fell over the edge of a cliff in the national forest. Everyone reached safety except Ted and Arnie. Arnold Schwarzenegger gave a speech in their honor at Dodger stadium where he said "Ted and Arnie you are giants in the eyes of us Californians." I really think Ted and Arnie are heroes because they died trying to save others . Governor Schwarzenegger also said "I am humbled by there courage."

Our Generation
I think that the article “The New Literacy” and the Wesh YouTube video have a very similar purpose. They both have to do with our generation and preparing for the future, and using technology. The article The New Literacy is about using new technology and you know what they say practice makes prefect and by using having technology it helps us with that . The video has to do with us adapting to technology and the future and the new generation. Like the Fishe video ,we are preparing for jobs that don’t exist so we need to know about technology because technology will be very advanced when we start getting jobs. So if we are preparing for the future we will do better, that is why I think we should all read it.
